Working Principle of Inverter Scroll Chiller

Compressor (Inverter Scroll): Adjusts its speed to match the cooling load.

  • Refrigerant Compression: Low-pressure vapor is compressed to high pressure.
  • Heat Rejection: Air-cooled via fans or water-cooled via condenser.
  • Expansion Valve: Reduces refrigerant pressure before evaporator.
  • Evaporator: Absorbs heat from chilled water/glycol loop.
  • Water Pump: Circulates chilled fluid to application load.
  • Inverter: Continuously adjusts motor/compressor speed for energy efficiency.

WATER PIPING GUIDELINES

  • Chilled Water: Insulated PPR / SS / HDPE piping
  • Inlet/Outlet Pipes: Refer technical table (3/4″ to 6″)
  • Avoid air entrapment: Include air release valves
  • Isolate with butterfly or ball valves for maintenance
  • Always ensure proper NPSH for pumps

Troubleshooting Tips

Issue Possible Cause Solution

Low Cooling Clogged filters, low refrigerant, dirty condenser Clean filters, top-up gas, service condenser  Unit Trips    Phase error, overcurrent Check power input, reset controller High Pressure  Poor air flow / blocked water Clean condenser, check pump operation

Low Flow Alarm    Air lock, pump fault   Bleed air, check pump Unusual Noise Loose compressor bolts / faulty fan Inspect mounting / replace fan motor

Inverter Error Communication / parameter fault Check HMI, reset inverter, verify settings
